SCOTCH SHORTBREADS 
3 1/2 c. rolled oats
2/3 c. sugar
1/4 c. flour
3/4 c. soft butter
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

Place all ingredients in bowl and work lightly with wooden spoon or fingers. Press into well-buttered 9 x 13 inch baking pan and bake 30 minutes until done. Cool 10 minutes and cut into squares.
