SCOTCH SHORTBREADS 
1 c. butter (1/2 lb.)
1/2 c. confectioners' sugar
2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking powder

Cream butter. Add sugar gradually. Sift flour then measure. Add salt and baking powder and sift again. Form in small balls, flatten with glass. Dip glass in confectioners' sugar then flatten cookie. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minute. About 24.
