TURKEY (CHICKEN) A LA KING 
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter
1/2 cup green pepper, diced
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1 3/4 cups milk
1 cup chicken broth
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 cups cooked turkey or chicken, cubed
1 (4 oz.) can mushroom pieces, drained
1 cup frozen green peas
2 tbsp. dry sherry or vermouth (optional)

Melt butter over medium heat in sauce pan. Add green peppers cook until tender. Stir in flour. Cook for a few minutes before adding milk and chicken broth to remove raw flour taste.

After adding milk and chicken broth, add salt, pepper and dry sherry/vermouth. While stirring, cook until thick and bubbly. Stir in mushrooms, peas and turkey/chicken.

Heat through before serving. Serve over toast.
