PASTRY HEARTS 
1 lb. cottage cheese, small curds
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
4 cups flour
1 lb. butter (do not use soften)

FOR FROSTING:

1/3 cup soft butter
3 cups sifted confectioners' sugar
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
About 3 tbsp. cream or milk

Preheat oven to 375°F.

Beat cottage cheese and vanilla (set aside).

Mix until crumbly; flour and butter. Add cheese mixture to flour mixture and mix by hand well. Chill dough 4 hours or overnight.

Roll out dough 1/8 inch thick on floured board. Cut with heart cookie cutter and bake on ungreased sheet at 375°F until golden and puffed.

Bake about 5-10 minutes.

Mix frosting ingredients together and frost pastry hearts.
