RICE AND TOMATO SOUP 
2 qt. cold water
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. long cooking rice
1/2 c. elbow macaroni
1 med. onion, chopped
1 c. crushed tomatoes
2 tbsp. butter
Pepper if desired

Put everything in pot and boil for 20 minutes or until rice is soft. It will look watery to start, but the cold water makes the rice thicken the juice and absorbs much of the water.
