6 lg. baking apples
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg
Butter

Into bottom of a buttered baking dish; put thick layers of apples or peaches. Mix 1/4 cup sugar and cinnamon together and sprinkle over apples or peaches. Dot apples or peaches with lumps of butter. Into a mixing bowl; sift the remaining ingredients together. Into this mixture break one egg. Mix until crumbly. Put over apples and bake at 350 degrees until crust is brown. Serve with milk, whipped cream or ice cream.
