BUTTERMILK BISCUITS 
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. buttermilk
1/3 c. shortening

Sift dry ingredients into bowl. Cut in shortening. Slowly add milk to make soft dough. Knead on floured board. Roll out to 3/4 inch thickness and cut with biscuit cutter or floured 2-inch glass. Place on greased baking sheet. Bake at 450 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes or lightly browned.
