SOUR CREAM APPLE PUDDING 
4-6 apples, sliced thick
1 egg, well-beaten
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. thick sour cream
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. sifted flour
Dash of cinnamon or nutmeg

Peel and slice apples. Beat egg until light. Add sugar and salt; mix well. Dissolve soda in 1 tablespoon warm water and add to the cream, stirring well. Mix in flour and spices. Lastly, add apples to batter and mix in well.

Turn into a long shallow pan. Bake in 350 degree oven from 30-35 minutes. In place of apples, rhubarb or gooseberries can be substituted.
