QUICK PAN ROLLS 
1 pkg. active dry yeast
1 c. warm water (105 to 115 degrees)
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 egg
1 tbsp. shortening
2 3/4 c. all-purpose flour

Dissolve yeast in 1 cup warm water in large bowl. Add sugar, salt, egg, shortening and 1 cup of flour. Beat until smooth. Scrape batter from side of bowl. Cover; let dough rise in warm place until double, about 30 minutes.

Stir down batter; turn onto floured surface. Divide into 12 equal parts. Shape each into smooth ball. Place in greased 9 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Let rise until double, 20 to 30 minutes. Bake in 400 degree oven until golden brown, about 15 minutes.
