APPLE DUMPLING ROLL 
1 stick butter
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. veg. shortening
Milk
Sliced apples
Cinnamon & sugar
2 c. water
1 1/2 c. sugar

Melt butter in 9 x 13 inch baking pan. Combine flour, salt, baking powder and shortening, mixing as you would pie dough. Adding only enough milk to make it stick together. Roll the dough out to about 3/8 inch thickness. Cover with sliced apples and sprinkle cinnamon and sugar over apples. Roll the dough jelly roll fashion and cut 1/2 inch thickness. Place in pan over melted butter. Combine water and sugar. Pour over dumplings. Bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour.
