CHOCOLATE CHERRY CAKE/BARS | |
1 pkg. Pillsbury fudge cake mix 1 (21 oz.) can cherry pie mix 1 tsp. almond extract 2 eggs (or Egg Beaters), slightly beaten Combine all above and stir by hand. Spoon into a 9"x13" pan for a cake or a jelly roll pan for bars. The batter will be quite thick. Be sure to grease and flour the pan before putting in the batter. Bake according to directions for the cake, a bit less for bars. 350 degree oven. FROSTING: 1 c. white sugar 5 tbsp. butter 1/3 c. milk 1 (6 oz) pkg. semi sweet chocolate chips Bring sugar, butter and milk to a boil and cook 1 minute. Then add chocolate chips. Beat frosting. Let both cake and frosting cool before putting on the frosting and it will set faster. |
