GRANDMA KYLLO'S SWEDISH
MEATBALLS
 
3 lbs. ground beef
1/3 c. onion, chopped
1 c. dry cracker crumbs or bread crumbs
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 egg
1 c. milk

Soak crumbs in milk. Add slightly beaten egg. Combine all other ingredients and mix thoroughly. Form into soft (not packed) small meat balls. Fry practically done with small amount shortening in skillet. Place in baking dish. To make gravy add water to drippings in skillet; add 1 beef bouillon cube, 1 can chicken rice soup or cream of mushroom soup, and 1 medium can of mushrooms and the liquid. Thicken to gravy like consistency. Pour over meat balls. Bake at 350 degrees for 1/2 hour until bubbly.
