FRIED APPLES 
5 lg. cooking apples
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. butter

About 20 minutes before serving peel and core apples, cut into 1 inch wedges. In pie plate, stir sugar with salt, dip apple wedges in mixture, turning to coat all sides.

In large skillet over medium-low heat, melt butter. Add apples and cook partially covered for 15 minutes or until fork-tender, carefully turning apples occasionally with pancake turners. Serve with cooked meats. Makes 12 servings.
