SIR JAMES ONION RINGS 
1 c. self-rising flour
1 c. water
1 egg
1/8 tsp. garlic powder
5 lg. onions
Oil
Lawry's seasoned salt

Mix flour, water, egg and garlic powder; let stand at room temperature for 3 hours. In a heavy skillet heat enough shortening for deep frying. Clean onions and slice and separate into rings. Dip rings into batter and fry until golden brown. Season with Lawry's seasoned salt. Serves 4-6.
