EMILIE'S LENTIL SOUP 
1 (1 lb.) pkg. lentils
1 ham bone with some meat left on, or 2 ham hocks
1 carrot, diced or shredded
1 onion, diced
1 stalk celery, diced
2 qt. water
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper

Combine ingredients in slow-cooking pot. Cover and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours. Remove ham bone; cut meat off, dice and return meat to soup. Makes 8 servings.
