CHEESE CHOWDER 
2 c. water
2 c. diced potatoes
1/2 c. diced carrots
1/2 c. diced celery
1/4 c. diced onion
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 c. flour
1/4 c. butter
2 c. milk
2 c. Cheddar cheese, grated
1 c. cubed ham

Combine water, potatoes, carrots, celery, onions, salt and pepper in large kettle. Boil 10-12 minutes. Meanwhile combine flour, butter and milk for white sauce. Add cheese and ham; stir until cheese melts. Add white sauce to vegetables that have not been drained. Heat through but do not boil.
