CHARLIES CHEDDAR CHOWDER 
1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. flour
2 c. milk
2 c. water
2 c. diced potatoes
1/2 c. carrots, diced
1/2 c. celery, diced
1/4 c. onion, chopped
2 c. shredded cheddar cheese
1 c. diced cured ham
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper

Make white sauce of flour, butter and milk in 4 quart pan. Place all vegetables in 2 cups water and simmer until cooked to taste. Add cheese to white sauce. Stir constantly until melted. Add ham and undrained vegetables.
