HOT GERMAN POTATO SALAD 
6-7 potatoes
1 1/2 c. water
1/2 c. vinegar
3/4 c. white sugar
1 heaping tbsp. cornstarch
5 slices bacon
1/4 chopped onion
Salt and pepper to taste

Cook potatoes in jackets; cool and slice into casserole dish. Cut up bacon in half-inch pieces; brown with onion in frying pan. When bacon is browned well, add the water, vinegar, white sugar, and cornstarch. Cook until thickened (may need to add little more cornstarch). Do not drain bacon grease off. Pour thickened mixture over potatoes and put in oven 1/2 to 3/4 hour.
