OLD-FASHIONED POUND CAKE | |
1 lb. butter 3 1/2 c. sugar 1 tsp. baking powder 4 c. sifted flour 12 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla flavoring 1 tsp. lemon flavoring Cream butter thoroughly; gradually add sugar. Cream until light and fluffy. Mix baking powder with flour. Add 3 tablespoons flour mixture; beat well. Add 2 eggs; beat well. Add flour and eggs alternately until all have been added. Add flavoring. Bake in 2 (10") tube pans for 1 hour at 325 degrees. Yield: 40 servings. |
