BROCCOLI - ONION CASSEROLE 
2 (10 oz.) pkgs. frozen cut broccoli
2 c. frozen small whole onions or 3 med. fresh onions, cut into wedges
2 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. milk
1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, cut up
1/2 c. American cheese, shredded
2 tbsp. butter
1 c. soft bread crumbs

Cook broccoli according to package directions; drain well. Set aside. Cook onions in boiling salted water about 10 minutes or until tender. Drain; set aside.

In the same saucepan melt the 2 tablespoons butter. Stir in flour, salt, and dash of pepper; add milk. Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly. Cook and stir 1-2 minutes longer. Add cream cheese; stir until melted. Stir in broccoli and onions.

Turn into a 1 1/2-quart casserole dish. Top with American cheese; toss with crumbs. Sprinkle over casserole. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes.
