MORMOR'S HOLIDAY BUNS
4 c. milk
4-5 c. sugar
8 eggs
1 lb. butter
6 pkg. yeast
Approximately 16 c. flour
2 tbsp. salt
Melted butter
Cinnamon sugar
1 1/4 lb. raisins
1 1/4 lb. walnuts, chopped
2 lb. maraschino cherries, chopped
Confectioners' sugar

Scald milk and butter. Beat eggs. Add sugar and salt to flour mixture. Add liquid and eggs. Dissolve yeast in 2 cups lukewarm water and 1 tablespoon sugar, then add to above mixture. Work in sufficient flour to turn out onto well-floured board. Knead until dough doesn't take up flour.

Raise until doubled, punch down. Cut out approximately 1/8 to 1/10 dough. Roll into a ball, then flatten into a rectangle with a roller. Brush with melted butter, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar, raisins, walnuts and cherries. Roll up into a cylinder, push edges together. Slice into 1-inch thick pieces.

Let raise again. Bake at 350 degrees until brown, 10-12 minutes. Brush with melted butter and ice with confectioners' sugar/milk paste.
