CARAMEL APPLE SQUARES 
1/2 c. butter
1 1/2 c. flour
1/4 c. sugar
1 egg yolk

FILLING:

30 caramels
2 tbsp. water
6 med. apples, peeled & sliced
1 tbsp. lemon juice

TOPPING:

1 c. flour
1/3 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. butter
Cinnamon-sugar

Microwave 1/2 cup butter for 45 seconds. Blend into flour, sugar and egg yolk. Press into bottom of 8 x 12 x 2 inch dish. Microwave 5 to 6 minutes. Turn dish 1/2 turn after 2 1/2 minutes. Unwrap caramels and place in a dish with water. Microwave 2 to 2 1/2 minutes, stirring twice during cooking process. Arrange apples on crust. Drizzle with lemon juice and caramel mixture. Make topping by combining flour and brown sugar, cut in butter. Sprinkle over apples. Sprinkle top with cinnamon-sugar. Microwave 10 to 12 minutes; cool.
