1 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs, beaten
2 tsp. vanilla
1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Mix shortening, sugars, eggs, and vanilla thoroughly. Blend dry ingredients, stir in. Mix in chocolate chips. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake about 10 minutes. Yield 5 to 6 dozen.
