ICE BOX BRAN MUFFINS 
2 c. 100% Nabisco Bran cereal
1 heaping c. shortening
3 c. sugar
4 beaten eggs
1 qt. buttermilk
5 c. flour
5 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 c. boiling water
4 c. 40% Bran Flakes

Pour boiling water over 100% Bran cereal and let set to cool. Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, buttermilk and cooled bran mixture. Sift flour, soda and salt. Add all at once with the bran flakes. Fold only until dry ingredients are moistened.

Fill muffin cups 2/3 full. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. Mixture can keep covered in refrigerator for 6-7 weeks. Makes 100 muffins.
