BANANA NUT LOAF 
1/2 c. shortening or butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs, slightly beaten
3 bananas, mashed
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
4 tbsp. buttermilk
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chopped pecans

Cream shortening and sugar, add eggs. Add mashed bananas. Add chopped nuts, buttermilk and vanilla. Sift flour, salt and soda. Gradually mix flour mixture into other ingredients. Beat well. Pour into greased and floured tube pan or log pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and test.

ICING:

1/8 lb. butter
1/2 box confectioners' sugar
1 banana, mashed
1 c. chopped pecans

Mix mashed bananas with chopped nuts; add to the butter and sugar mixture.
