CABBAGE CASSEROLE 
1 med. cabbage
1 onion, chopped
1 1/2 lbs. ground chuck
3/4 c. rice
1 stick butter
4 cans Hunts tomato sauce
5 cans water
Salt & pepper on each layer

Clean and shred cabbage in 1 inch slices. Put half the cabbage in large, greased lasagna pan. Melt butter in fry pan. Add onions and cook until soft. Add rice to onion and butter and toss well. Spread on top of cabbage in pan. Brown ground chuck and spread on top of rice mixture. Spread rest of cabbage over ground chuck. Heat tomato sauce and water until hot. Pour over cabbage casserole. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.

Instead of tomato sauce and water I use my own spaghetti sauce thinned down.
