SHEPHERD'S PIE 
Instant mashed potatoes (3 pkg. box)
1 pkg. Lipton onion soup mix
Grated American or Velveeta cheese
1 1/2 to 2 lbs. hamburger

I use 1 to 1 1/2 packets of instant mashed potato mix according to package directions. Then cook hamburger in frying pan stirring to break up the meat. Add the soup mix and stir well and take off the heat.

Put a little butter in the bottom of a casserole dish and then make a layer of mashed potatoes (not all the potatoes, there's another layer). Then layer about half the cheese followed by the meat mixture (use all).

Cover with the rest of the potatoes and top with the rest of the cheese. Bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees.
