TRIFLE 
1 pound cake or 1 white cake mix, prepared & baked
1 pkg. vanilla pudding
1 can fruit cocktail, drained
3 bananas, sliced
1 box red Jello
1 1/2 c. water
2 pkg. dessert topping mix or Cool Whip
Maraschino cherries (optional)

Dissolve Jello in water; allow to partially set. Slice or cube cake. Layer cake, vanilla pudding, fruit cocktail and banana slices in crystal bowl. Add a layer of Jello. Repeat layers; top with prepared dessert topping or Cool Whip and maraschino cherries. Chill several hours or overnight. Yield 12 servings.

Suggestion: Use fruit of the season. Match holiday - use red Jello for Christmas or Valentines - green for St. Patrick's Day.
