CRINKLE TOP MOLASSES COOKIES 
1 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 c. molasses
4 c. flour
2 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cloves, ground

Cream shortening and sugar; add egg and mix. Stir in molasses. Sift dry ingredients and combine with molasses mixture. Chill overnight. Roll dough into 1 inch balls and dip top in sugar. Place 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 18-20 minutes.
