DUTCH APPLE CRUMBLE | |
5 to 6 thinly sliced apples 1/3 c. packed brown sugar 1/8 tsp. salt 1/4 c. sugar Dash ground cinnamon Toss apples with sugars, salt and cinnamon, pour into lightly greased 9 inch pie plate or square pan. Top with Dutch Crumble Topping. Bake at 350°F. for 60 minutes or until done. Makes 8 to 10 servings. DUTCH CRUMBLE TOPPING: 1 c. butter 1 c. flour 1 c. sugar 1/4 tsp. baking soda DUTCH CRUMBLE TOPPING: Mix butter, flour, sugar and baking soda with pastry blender until mixture resembles cornmeal. Gather small amounts of mixture and press together between palms to form sheets of dough; arrange over apples. Repeat procedure until all topping is applied. |
