FRENCH ALMOND CHOCOLATE CAKE 
2 sticks butter
2 c. sugar
2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
4 eggs
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 (1 lb.) can Hershey's syrup
6 Hershey bars with almonds
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. buttermilk

Cream butter and sugar; add eggs, then beat. Add chocolate syrup and flavoring. Sift soda and flour. Add flour and milk alternately. Melt candy bars over hot or boiling water, then add last. Pour into greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 300 degrees for 1 1/2 hours or less. Test with toothpick for doneness after 1 hour.
