BAKED ASPARAGUS WITH CREAM SAUCE 
1 pkg. (10 oz.) frozen asparagus
3 to 4 tsp. cornstarch
1 c. milk
2 tbsp. butter
Salt and pepper to taste
Cheddar cheese, med. to mild, grated
Unseasoned bread crumbs

In saucepan on stovetop, boil asparagus for 10 minutes. Drain. Place in greased, 8 inch shallow casserole dish. In separate saucepan, add cornstarch to cold milk. Heat slowly, stirring constantly. After it thickens, add butter and seasonings. Pour sauce over drained asparagus in casserole. Sprinkle top with grated cheese and bread crumbs. Cover top with aluminum foil. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Serves 4 to 6.
