SOUTH OF THE BORDER SPREAD 
1 (16 oz.) can refried beans
3/4 c. salsa (picante, taco, or chili sauce)
2 avocados, peeled and mashed
1 (8 oz.) carton sour cream
1 (4 oz.) pkg. shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
2 tbsp. chopped onion tops
Tortilla chips

Spread beans, salsa, avocados and sour cream in order given in deep 9 or 10 inch glass pie plate. Sprinkle with Cheddar cheese. Cover with foil. Bake in 350 degree oven until heated through (15-20 minutes).

TO SERVE: Sprinkle with onion tops. Arrange pie plate on serving platting and surround with tortilla chips for dipping. Serves 8-10.
