GINGERBREAD COOKIES 
1 1/8 c. (2 1/4 blocks) butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 sm. eggs
1/2 c. dark molasses
5 1/4 c. flour
3 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/4 tsp. cloves
2 tsp. ginger

Cream together butter, sugar, eggs and dark molasses. Sift and add flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, cloves and ginger. Shape onto ungreased pan. Decorate. Bake at 375 degrees 10-12 minutes. Makes 14 (9 inch) cookies.
