OLD - FASHIONED VEGETABLE SOUP 
2 to 3 c. soup bones with meat
8 c. water
1/2 c. elbow macaroni
2 med. onions, chopped
1 c. carrots or 3 carrots cut in slices
1 c. chopped celery and leaves
2 (1 lb.) cans tomatoes or fresh, ripe tomatoes out of garden
1 c. kernel corn
1 c. potatoes
1 c. green beans
1/2 c. green pepper
3 sprigs parsley, chopped
1 c. cabbage, chopped coarse
5 slices bacon (instead of soup bones)
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. pepper or 3 peppercorns

Cook bone first. Add to tomatoes and water, carrots, celery and leaves, corn, cabbage, green beans, green pepper, bacon, and parsley. Simmer one hour. Add potatoes and macaroni. When done, it makes one big pot.

This is Sister Rosa's vegetable soup. As a child, I always enjoyed her soup. All of our brothers and sisters ate her delicious soup when growing up.
