APPLE PEAR CAKE 
2 lg. eggs
3/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. flour
1 stick & 1 tbsp. butter, softened
1/8 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. dark rum or 1 tbsp. rum flavoring
2 Granny Smith apples, peeled & sliced thin
2 lg. pears, peeled & sliced thin

Beat egg and sugar until light and lemon colored. Add flour and baking powder, salt and butter; combining well. Stir in apples, pears and rum or rum flavoring. Butter well a 9 inch cake pan and sprinkle lightly with sugar. Spoon batter into pan and bake at 325 degrees for 35-40 minutes. Let cool for 30 minutes.
