OLD FASHIONED PEACH COBBLER 
2 c. sliced peaches

BATTER:

3/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. milk
4 tbsp. butter
1 c. flour

Combine sugar and butter. Add other dry ingredients, alternately with milk. Spread on peaches or any fresh fruit.

Topping: Mix 1 cup sugar with 1 tablespoon cornstarch and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Sift this over the batter. Pour 1 cup boiling water over all. Bake at 325 degrees for 50 minutes. Serve with warm cream.
