CREAMY CUSTARD PIE | |
Protein-nutritious custard filling is smooth and delicious. 4 eggs, slightly beaten 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 c. sugar (white) 3 c. milk, scalded 1 tsp. vanilla 1 unbaked 9 inch pie shell Ground nutmeg Mix together eggs, salt and sugar. Slowly stir in milk and vanilla. Pour into pie shell. Sprinkle with nutmeg. Bake in 450 degree oven 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 325 degrees and bake 30 to 40 minutes or until knife inserted halfway between center and edge of pie comes out clean. Cool on rack. Refrigerate if stored overnight.
