SHOO FLY CUPCAKES 
4 c. flour
2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1 c. firm butter or firmly packed
1 c. firm butter
3 tsp. baking soda
2 c. boiling water
1 c. dark molasses

Combine flour and brown sugar. Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. Set aside one cup to sprinkle on top. Combine the baking soda, boiling water and molasses. Add this liquid mixture to the dry crumb mixture mixing thoroughly with wooden spoon. Place paper bake cups in muffin pans; fill 1/2 full. Sprinkle reserved crumbs on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Makes 3 dozen cupcakes. (Try foil-lined cupcake papers on cookie sheet if no muffin tin available.)
