STEAK AND ONION PIE 
1 lb. stew beef, trimmed and cut
1/4 c. flour
2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. paprika
Dash of ginger
Dash of allspice
3 peeled (or clean unpeeled) potatoes
4 peeled (or clean unpeeled) carrots
Fried onions, as much or as little as you like
Pie crust or biscuits

Combine flour, salt, pepper, paprika, ginger, and allspice; roll beef in flour mixture. Brown in skillet in oil. Add boiling water (approximately 2 cups). Simmer about 1 hour or until tender. Stir often to prevent sticking.

Add diced potatoes and carrots and simmer 20 minutes. Cover with onions. Cover everything with pie crust or biscuits. Bake in a 450 degree oven until topping is browned.

Use skillet that can go from stove top to oven.
