1/2 c. milk
2 1/2 tbsp. flour
1 stick butter
1/2 c. Crisco
3/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Heat milk and flour, stirring constantly until paste is formed. Remove from heat, cool.

Cream vanilla, sugar, Crisco and butter with electric mixer. Gradually add little of paste at a time. Keep beating until creamy. Cannot overbeat.

Delicious on chocolate cake. Covers 2 (9 inch) layers or 9 x 13 inch generously.
