SQUASH PICKLES 
16 c. (1 gallon) sliced squash
8 medium onions
4 c. vinegar
1 1/2 turmeric
1/2 c. salt
1/2 tsp. celery seed
4 c. sugar

Slice squash and onions very thin. Put in water and salt. Cover and soak for 3 hours. Drain off water. Mix vinegar, sugar, and spices. Boil 7 minutes. Put in jars and seal.
