1 c. rubbing alcohol per color Several drops of food coloring Tube type, pinwheel or other shaped pasta to string String, elastic or yarn strips. Mix one color in each cup of rubbing alcohol. Place macaroni in coloring until it reaches the desired shade. Dry completely on waxed paper sheets. Tape one end of string to make it easier to thread through pasta. String the pasta onto the length of string and tie. Use a variety of pasta shapes and colors, patterns of color, or just one type and color for the necklaces and bracelets of your choice. For younger children, remind them the macaroni is not edible. A fun, rainy day project. |
