THUMB PRINT COOKIES 
4 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 1/2 c. butter, softened
1 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 tbsp. vanilla
6 tbsp. milk
3/4 c. chopped semi-sweet chocolate chips (or miniature chips)

FILLING:

2 1/4 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
3 tbsp. shortening
6 tbsp. light corn syrup
3 tbsp. water
3 tbsp. vanilla
