In large bowl, chop 2 medium apples in squares. Add 1 cup sugar. Sprinkle over apples, let stand for 10 minutes. Add:

1/2 c. oil
1 egg

Then add:

1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. ground allspice
1/2 c. nuts
1 c. raisins

Mix together. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes in 8 x 8 or small tube pan greased and floured.
