CHOP SUEY 
2 tbsp. shortening
2 lbs. pork or beef, cut up
Brewed coffee
Bead molasses and soy sauce
2 onions, cut up
1 stalk celery, cut up
1 can bean sprouts
1 can water chestnuts, sliced

Brown meat in shortening until very brown. Pour coffee over meat to cover. Add about 3/4 jar bead molasses and cover. Bring to a boil, lower heat and simmer until tender.

While meat is cooking, cut up onions and celery and water chestnuts. Add to meat when it is tender, adding enough water to cook vegetables in liquid. Cook about 30 minutes, stirring once or twice.

Add bean sprouts and flavor to taste with soy sauce. If desired, thicken with cornstarch and water mixture. Serve over rice.
