BREAD PASTRY 
1 c. milk (scalded or instant)
1 pkg. yeast
1/4 c. water
4 egg yolks
4 c. flour
1 c. shortening
3 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
Pie filling or Solo filling
Vanilla frosting

Combine flour, shortening, salt and sugar; work with fingers until meally (as for pie crust). Scald and cool milk or use powdered instant milk dissolved in warm water (does not need scalding). Dissolve yeast in the 1/4 cup water. Very lightly stir or beat egg yolks.

Mix all ingredients together; knead. Let rise 1 hour. Divide into 4 parts. Roll or pat with fingers into oblong about 12x9. Spread with filling. Fold over and pinch edges. Place in pans or cookie sheets. Bake 30-45 minutes at 350 degrees. Frost with vanilla icing.
