1/2 c. butter
1/8 tsp. almond flavoring
1 1/4 c. flour, sifted
1/4 c. sugar
Food coloring

Cream butter and sugar and food coloring. Add almond flavoring. Stir in flour and mix well.

Various Shapes:

Oranges: 3 drops red, 2 drops yellow food coloring. To rough skin use blunt end of toothpick.

Apricots: Crease down one side, put stick of clove in blossom and add red blush to one side.

Strawberries: Red food coloring. Roll in red sugar and use green colored toothpick for stalk.

In each use about 2 level teaspoons dough. Chill 30 minutes. Heat oven to 300 degrees. Bake 30 minutes. Time will vary according to size of cookies.
