RICE - BARLEY PILAF 
1 c. long grain rice
1 c. pearl barley
1/4 c. butter
8 green onions, chopped
2 (10 oz.) cans consomme
2 cans water
1 can whole mushrooms with liquid

Brown rice and barley in butter until golden; then add green onions, consomme, water, mushrooms and liquid. Cook on top of stove, covered, for 30 minutes or in covered casserole in 350 degree oven for 1 hour or until liquid is absorbed. Toss and serve. Serves 10.
