BUTTER APPLE SQUARES 
1 c. flour
1/2 c. butter
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. peeled apples, finely chopped
2 c. brown sugar
1 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. sour cream
1 large egg

Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly spoon flour into cup; level off. In large bowl, combine flour, sugar and butter and stir in nuts. Press 2 3/4 mixture into ungreased 13 x 9-inch pan. To the remaining mix, add other ingredients; spoon evenly over base.

Bake 25 to 30 minutes. Cut into squares; serve with whipped cream.
